Transcription and AI Processing
Lanson uses its own transcription service to process audio and create
transcripts. For correction, translation, and other AI text features, transcript
text may be processed by DeepInfra and Groq.
Recordings and final transcriptions are stored locally on the user's device.
Unless the user separately agrees, Lanson does not save recordings or transcripts
on its servers.
Lanson uses these services only to provide transcription, correction,
translation, and related AI features. We do not sell user recordings or
transcripts.
We will not use your audio content or transcription text to train AI models
unless you explicitly choose to participate in our data contribution program
(enterprise customers may have different contractual arrangements).
4. Data Storage and Security
We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your information from
unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
Storage Location
Data storage depends on the feature you use. Recordings and final transcriptions
created through live transcription are stored locally on your device by default.
If you separately agree to upload, sync, or use a server-backed feature, that
data may be stored on secure cloud servers operated by leading cloud service
providers (such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) that are certified with security
standards such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
For server-backed data belonging to EU users, we provide data residency options
to ensure that data is stored on servers within the EU, in compliance with GDPR
requirements. Enterprise customers can choose specific data center locations.
Security Measures
Encryption: All data transmission uses TLS/SSL encryption. Static data is
encrypted using AES-256 encryption standards.
Access Control: Implement strict access controls and authentication
mechanisms. Our employees can only access user data when necessary for their
work duties, and all access is logged and monitored.
Security Audits: Regularly conduct security audits and penetration testing
to identify and fix potential security vulnerabilities.
Backups: Regularly back up your data to prevent data loss. Backup data is
also encrypted for storage.
Incident Response: Established comprehensive security incident response
procedures. In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and
relevant regulatory agencies as required by law.
Employee Training: All employees receive regular security and privacy
training and sign confidentiality agreements.
Data Retention Period
Account Data: Retained while your account remains active.
Transcription Files: Recordings and final transcriptions are stored locally
on your device by default. Unless you separately agree to upload, sync, or use a
server-backed feature, Lanson does not retain recordings or transcripts on its
servers.
Log Data and Metadata: Typically retained for 90 days for system maintenance
and security analysis.
You can delete your files at any time. After account cancellation, we will
delete all your personal data within 30 days, but we may retain certain
information to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We only share your information in the
following limited circumstances:

or sale of all or part of our assets, your information may be transferred as
part of the transaction. We will notify you before the transfer, and your

orders, subpoenas), protect our or others' rights, property, or safety, or
